The Exercise Science option prepares students to work in the health/fitness industry or to work with athletes in a non-school setting. Students take courses in the biological and physical sciences in preparation for their coursework in the Exercise Science program. The program curriculum emphasizes the anatomy, physiology, and mechanics of human movement. Laboratory activities provide hands-on experiences with equipment commonly used in the field.
The Pre-Physical Therapy (PT) program is designed for students who, after completing their bachelor’s degree, wish to become licensed physical therapists by entering an accredited PT school. Our curriculum includes the required courses for admission to the PT school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
